HISTORY
The first school in Rossville, called Rossville Provisional School, opened in 1898. It became Rossville State School in 1909 but later closed in 1964.
TODAY
The school that currently operates opened its doors on January 25,1988. Today Rossville State School is a P–6 state primary school located approximately 40km south of Cooktown, tucked away in the beautiful rainforest of Rossville on Angus Gully Road. The school services the localities of Rossville, Helenvale and Mungumby and works closely with all other schools in the region.
The school comprises of two composite classes - Junior (Years Prep to 2) and Senior (Years 3 to 6).
